VB Edits is an editorial business that specializes in proofreading, copyediting, and line editing.
I created VB Edits because I love reading and I love the written word. But also because I love helping others.
As a former teacher and a mom, I’m passionate about teaching the whys and ensuring understanding. Watching the people I care about succeed is my greatest joy, so helping authors polish their manuscripts for publication isn’t just my job, it’s a reward. Not only will I work on the editing and proofreading aspects of your journey, but I’ll be here to cheer you on throughout the process. Helping authors feel confident with their work is a goal I strive for each day.
A Little About Me
My name is Beth, and I’m a freelance editor, a puzzle junkie, a huge audiobook fan, a book hoarder, and a mom. I live in the most adorable small town (someone should write a romance novel set here. Seriously!) in Michigan with my husband, two kids, and two dogs. I specialize in copyediting, line editing, and proofreading all types of romance fiction.
I have completed multiple copyediting and proofreading courses through the Editorial Freelancers Association and a high-level copyediting and proofreading course through Edit Republic.
I’ve also completed two line editing courses. One through the Editorial Freelancers Association and another through Edit Republic.
Prior to becoming an editor, I was a first grade teacher, and I also spent a handful of years homeschooling my children. Teaching children to read is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. I love literature and love sharing it with the world.
